The shop with the sign County Security was the Essex County Council Wickford Library in the 1950's. The shop to the right was a sweet shop through out the 1950's

Is this taken from where the old bike shop used to be ? I seem to remember a cake shop being roughly where that shop with "Evening Echo".

Think there was a dirt road  roughly opposite London Road that was the entrance to the brickfields. Was it opposite or a little bit up Nevenden Road ?
